Jörg Unger wins Nordcup 2025

After four days of play in the disciplines of free game, small and large cadre, and single cushion, the final day of play saw a real showdown. The starting position was clear: Unger was narrowly ahead of Michael Ernst and therefore couldn’t afford to lose significant points to Ernst in three-cushion.

In the end, these two actually met in the final match of this final tournament.

Unger had a two-point-match lead going in this final event, so even a draw would have been enough for him. Unger, among other things, extended his lead to four points before Ernst’s extra set. Only a win would help Michael, so he needed five points.

He managed this number of collisions with nerveless nerves, helped by a minor correction fluke on number 3 😉 In the end, after five tournament days of play, the two players were tied on points and games!

Congrats to both athletes!
